My husband and I went around to a bunch of local contemporary furniture stools to look for bar stools. We thought that we would be able to see them, sit in them, buy them and just drive away with them. Unfortunately, most of these stores had a few beat-up floor samples and wanted us to look at catalogs, which I can do at home. Their lead times were also worse than Amazon, so we decided to take a chance and order these.I am very happy with this purchase. the stools came quickly, well packed, were easy to assemble... aside from my husband ignoring the "remove this cap before assembling" warning, which lead to about 20 minutes of trying to disassemble the thing.The stitching on the seat is nicer than some of the stool we saw in the stores and the hydraulic adjustment was easier to use as well. Our adjustment lever is all metal, though, no black handle as shown.One thing my husband didn't like is that the base was a little dirty and had light surface scratches. Nothing too bad (that we would not eventually do ourselves), but I guess it is worth mentioning.Overall, we are both happy with these bar stools. They are comfortable and stylish and go with our DWELL-photoshoot-ready art loft perfectly. Make sure to double-check your dimensions against the adjustable height before ordering, though. The height shown (42") is the overall extended height including the seat back. Our counter is about 35" AFF and these adjusted down to that nicely. We even have a few inches to spare.
