You wouldn't believe how long I searched the net looking for TALL bar stools. I wanted them to fit our newly finished lower level and they had to have a 34" seat height to accommodate our TALL bar height, plus I didn't want to pay a fortune. Finally I found this bar stool on Amazon. Because I was unsure if it really was high enough for our bar height, I ordered only one. As soon as I finish this review I will order two more. They were easy to put together, they seem sturdy (Only time will tell), and they are very adjustable, as promised. For friends and family with prominent backsides........ they likely won't fit their keisters in the seat. That's OK, for them I'll tell them, "This is like the standing sushi bars in Tokyo" or "This is like those old time stand-up bars in Chicago."

We bought two of these: both broke within two weeks. I sat on them maybe a dozen times - one lasted a week longer. I'm only 175lbs. The lever/air piston height adjuster is the problem. They broke and now are in the 'all the way down' position - no longer adjustable. We were very impressed with the look, and build quality - initially. They're very nice looking and reasonably comfortable. Although I would discourage anyone who is not 'thin' or of medium width from buying these. I'm 5'10" and I found the sides dig into the sides of my legs. It's passable but not super comfortable. Disappointing.

The barstools look great and I'm getting tons of compliments on them. They are reasonably comfy too. But the paint easily chips when the stool touches the counter. So now I have tens of black marks on the back of those stools!
