I specifically bought this to use with my taller bar. So the description of the 32 inch seat height sold me on it. Fully extended, the seat height at the butt is 30 1/2 inches. Once I sit on it, it compresses to about 29 inches. Too short for my needs.Also there are blemishes on the wooden seat, and the edges look like cheap plywood when compared to the photo on the site.Finally, don't put it together unless you are sure you want to keep it. Once it is together, you can't get it back apart. The up and down mechanism locks together.On the plus side, the chrome parts look great, and it is fairly inexpensive. Might work for you if you have a shorter height bar.

Got 2 for our kitchen island. assembly is easy and they look great. quite comfortable for both 4 year old kids and 200lb adults. very stable even with our kids climbing on them like they are in the circus. only con is that the paint chipped in one of the corners very quickly but it's minor.The chrome base is a pain to keep clean.

I wasn't sure these chairs would be comfortable, my fiance put them together himself fairly quickly, once put together I was a little scared to sit on them but once I sat they were pretty comfortable for not having cushion support. I really like them and the color is great. My only complaint is that since the bottom is a chrome base you see every little mark and hair that falls on it. I have a dog so it attracts the hair like crazy. I have to be constantly cleaning it and it drives me crazy. Other than this the chairs are pretty nice for the price. Not the best quality in wood, but pretty damn good.
