You can certainly buy a better (and more expensive) bar stool but this item is a pretty decent value for the money. On the plus side the size of the seat is fine for me (5' 8", 175) and the general fit and finish was decent. I also like the fact the lower "ring" type footrest is very robust and you can expect a lot of use without the worry of it breaking like you so often see with typical chair spindles (even on high end chair).On the downside the seat covering is not real leather and does seem a bit on the cheap side. Also the swivel is very stiff; you won't be doing any spinning on these chairs, that's for sure. (I replaced the swivels on my stools with better swivels I purchase separately, it's simple to do). You do have to assembly them but it's a pretty simple task. If you're hoping for a 300 dollar stool for 70-90 dollars you'll probably be disappointed but if you understand what you're buying you'll end up with something that's good for casual use and will hold up for many years. I got mine from Yazmo in Amazon marketplace and they were quite good to deal with but it's a good idea to take your time, many vendors are selling simlar products. Plus the prices are all over the place and seem to change daily.

Easy to put together and look really nice. The leather is not smooth, it's "wrinkled". Thought I was buying smooth but I still really like these.
