I purchased these purely based on looks, and I even read reviews from people saying their stools arrived cracked and cheap looking. I ordered two and one arrived with a huge crack in the seat. They are cheap looking, and feel as if the neck of the stool will crack after a few uses. Be sure to inspect your seats before assembly. These are impossible to disassemble to return. To top it all off, they weren't even comfortable.

The directions are definitely not the best. It says remove a black cap, but the directions clearly point to the white cap. A little internet research confirmed that it was the black cap. When you first you the stool, you have to sit on the stool and lift up the handle a bit. This will engage the gas lift system. Very sharp looking and a great value.
