These look great, are easy to assemble, and fit my counter top perfectly. I highly recommend getting the shorter screws at a hardware store. I did and had no problems with bumps in the leather. Note that the weight limit is 200 lbs. I'm 40 lbs more and have not had a problem yet, but have only sat 10 min or less at a time.

I ordered four of these stools last year. They look good and work nicely. They stood up to daily use for almost a year, but then two of the four lift cylinders started leaking intermittently. I contacted Red Star Traders, and they promptly sent replacements. Would have been nice to have them last longer, but their warranty service took the sting out of the problem.

We bought these twice, because two was great but four was better. I spent a lot of time researching reviews on stools like this and found them all about the same, with two points of exception: these are covered with leather rather than a synthetic material, and there is a little more height range on them-- just an inch, I think. What the range difference allows is this: I can bring the stool up to a good bistro-table height without maxing it out. If my science is any good, I think this is going to give better stability and reduce the risk of breakage from weights slightly above the 200-pound maximum that all of these stools specify. For those reasons, I went ahead and spent the extra money on this set. A couple of months later...I ain't sorry yet. My husband generally weighs in at a little over 200, maybe around 210 at the top, and gets no sense of wobbliness or stress at just under full extension, when he uses these.Like all the others of its kind, these stools are lightweight. That's good for me-- I live in a modest-size house where almost every room serves at least two purposes; convertibility is important. I can easily slide these around to wherever I might need them for the purpose du jour. And they are exceptional guitar stools, as one review had indicated. They're comfortable for a sit-down in the kitchen while cooking, a music session of any reasonable duration or a leisurely breakfast. We love the feel of the leather-- it's soft and supple, easy to clean (gently) and nicely stitched. The foot rest is sturdy and secure. They swivel. They take up minimal space. Height adjustment is easy and reliable. They look good. I did wish they had been available in black, and it would be super-cool if Klein would offer them in, say, navy or butter-beige or a nice, tasteful red. But that's just a dream I have. The shade of brown they sell is a good one and graces my rooms just fine.So if you're on the fence about these, consider that stability-at-height thing and whether it makes sense to you. It's proving out for us, so far. Thanks for listening.
